James McCormick, Mayo High School business teacher, has been recognized as a Distinguished Educator by the national nonprofit Next Gen Personal Finance (ngpf.org) for outstanding commitment to professional development in real-world personal finance topics. To date, James has earned 6 NGPF Certifications, each of which requires nine hours of live, collaborative coursework on a key personal finance topic and passing a one-hour Certification Exam.

Each semester, James also leads Finance Camp - a collaborative initiative for Mayo, Century, and John Marshall High Schools' Personal Finance students, made possible through a sponsorship from Think Bank. The immersive program equips over 300 students with essential financial decision-making and budgeting skills, guided directly by Think Bank volunteers and community leaders.
