P-TECH 535 is a pioneering education reform initiative created to prepare young people with the academic, technical, and professional skills required for high wage, high skills, and high need regional careers. This public-private partnership allows students to take high school and college coursework simultaneously while engaging in industry-guided workforce development in one of two pathways.
Find the Right Pathway
Rochester Public Schools has partnered with IBM, Mayo Clinic and RCTC to offer pathways in nursing and Information Technology (IT). Students have the opportunity to earn both their high school diploma and a diploma in practical nursing or an Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology within four years in the program model. Students will receive workplace experiences through job shadows, mentors, and a paid internship.
Information Technology Pathway
The Practical Nursing (PN) program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide direct nursing care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, home and community-based settings.
Mayo Clinic Partnership

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Information Technology (IT) program is designed to provide students with skills to meet information technology needs across industries.
