Community Budget Advisory Committee
The community budget advisory committee works to understand the structure of the budget, the laws and policies that govern school district finances, the timeline and process of budget development, and other financial considerations.
Objectives for the committee include:
Study and analyze the short-term and long-range financial needs of the District
Verify that the budget supports the mission and priorities of the District as set by the School Board and the District's Strategic Plan
Provide input to the Board and Superintendent on specific findings, issues, and/or concerns related to District finances and the budgeting process
Recommend potential budget enhancements and reductions when required;
Strive to continuously improve transparency, clarity, and effectiveness of communication in order to enhance the community's understanding of financial matters of the District
Work collaboratively, keeping in mind the needs of the District as a whole
Assist the District in reaching out to stakeholder groups for the purpose of enhancing their understanding of the District's budget and financial condition
Advise the Board and Superintendent on such other matters as may be requested.
