When is the first day of school?

The first day of school for elementary is Wednesday, August 30.

Step Into Learning

Step Into Learning is an altered start to the traditional start of the school year. All of our elementary schools will use the first two days of school, August 28 and 29, as student conference days.

Parents and guardians will make an individual 30-minute appointment in August (be watching for communication from your individual school soon). During this appointment, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher(s), have their child assessed, visit with the school nurse, set up their lunch accounts, explore the school’s PTSA and more. The first full day of school for students grades K-5 will be August 30. 

What are the bell times?

• All elementary schools start at 9:25 a.m. and end at 3:50 p.m., excluding the following schools: Franklin, Gage, Longfellow, and Washington.

• Franklin, Gage, Longfellow, and Washington start at 9:20 a.m. and end at 3:45 p.m.

• Lincoln K-8 starts at 9:25 a.m. and ends at 3:55 p.m.

• RPS Online starts at 8:10 a.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m.

What about transportation information?

Bus route information has already been mailed, but please ensure that you have completed a registered rider form if you have a student enrolled in a district-wide option school or non-public school student to ensure your child is on the correct route. If you have questions about your transportation route, please email our transportation department or call 507.328.4260.

Where can I find School Supply Lists?

Get all the materials you need to help prepare you and your students for the new year by using the lists below. Please note that some additional supplies may be needed after starting the school year. More information will come from your student’s teachers.
