6th graders went on a virtual field trip through time and watched clips of some important Civil Rights events. We had great discussions on the impact of peaceful protests throughout the Civil Rights Movement. Then they finished by writing a letter to a family member or friend. Meet Paula Winter: Kindergarten, First and Second grade teacher. Little About Me: I was born and raised in Rochester. I attended Jefferson Elementary, Kellogg Middle School and Mayo High School. My father was a physical education teacher and was an incredible role model for me. I love teaching young children! MNSync Online classes are live on Google Meet with teachers! Students interact with their teachers and peers, participate in discussions, work in partners and groups to do projects, and also have individual work time.

Last week 5th graders were learning about decimals by coloring in hundredths on a base-ten block. The students work with their teacher to learn the concept, try it on their own and show their work to get feedback from their teacher. Later, they worked with partners playing a card game to make decimals.
