Two of our John Marshall students, Aidan and Ivan, had the opportunity to represent John Marshall, as well as the eleven-state region, in the national E-cyber mission finals this past week in Washington, D.C.! The week was filled with workshops, networking, and presentations. Aidan and Ivan, team BasilLab, explained their research project to not only lawmakers and STEM professionals in poster talks and PowerPoints, but also in a live stream across the nation. Some of their activities included making their own MREs (meals ready to eat) for lunch using a magnesium and water reaction to heat the food, solving circuits using a breadboard, playing with robo dogs and other robotics, including a $100,000 remote vehicle, and winning in trivia. Well done, Aidan and Ivan! Way to represent RPS!

More than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state learned of their freedom that day. This day became known as #Juneteenth, a federal, and now Minnesota state holiday.
