Students were able to participate in the whole process, from making and preparing the pies to choosing what flavor they wanted and enjoying them together, family-style.

It was a beautiful morning for the ribbon-cutting of Longfellow's new solar panels! After the brief ceremony, some of our students, faculty, and community members in attendance got to go onto the roof to view the new panels. Thank you to all those who attended and to Ideal Energies for the installations!
These solar panels were made possible by grants from the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

Dear RPS Community, I am writing to share some thoughts on the referendum that was narrowly defeated last week... My main message is this: if Rochester wants to provide all its young people with the caliber of education that will enable them to succeed in the economy and in the society in which they will live their lives, additional funding for our school district is urgent and essential.

It’s #AmericanEducationWeek. This week and every week we’re celebrating the incredible staff who bring life to the public school system. Whether you are a bus driver or a teacher, maintenance staff, nurse, a cafeteria worker, or a part of the administrative staff, you are all essential players in our District. Thank you for all that you do for Rochester Public Schools!

Having diverse educators in our classrooms benefits all of the students we serve, especially those from underserved communities who often don't see educators who look like them during their time in school.
Through Grow Your Own, RPS is working to increase and support the number of educators of color in our District.
Join us for an information session this Thursday at 4:30 p.m. to learn more about the Grow Your Own opportunity!
More information about the Grow Your Own opportunity can be found at www.rochesterschools.org/grow-your-own
