AVAILABLE FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR

Rochester Public Schools Preschool Age Child Care Program (PACC) is an extended day care option for RPS Preschool students. PACC will provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can feel they are significant and they belong. Our goals are to:

Provide children a safe, healthy environment where staff strive to meet emotional, social, and physical needs.
Create a happy, warm, exciting environment that is inviting, comfortable, flexible, and manageable for children.
Offer a variety of activities such as arts, crafts, STEM, self-directed and active play, reading, and more.
Provide individual guidance to children based on careful observation of each child’s needs and in keeping with parent or guardian direction.
Support and collaborate with the children’s teachers and school administrators in building a stable and consistent team–promote an environment where children may learn and grow.

How much does PACC cost?

PACC offers per session/per day pricing as follows:

$15/Day for Morning Before School Sessions (6:30-9:45 AM); $20 Drop-in Session
$15/Day for After School Sessions (3:45-6 PM); $20 Drop-in Session
$20/Day of Mid-Day Care Session (9:45 AM-3:45 PM); $20 Drop-in Session

When is extended day available?

Monday - Friday 6:30 AM to 6 PM.

Is PACC available at all sites?

No. PACC is only available at Hoover Early Learning School.

Can I use PACC for fewer than 5 days a week?

You pick your contracted days and sessions. Any schedule changes will need to be done one week in advance.

Do I have to attend every month of the school year?

Contracts must be current to attend. Contracts take one week to process before students can attend.

How do I register for PACC?

Children MUST be registered for Preschool before they can register for PACC. To register for PACC, log into your account at https://rochester.ce.eleyo.com, and under “Explore all Programs” go to Preschool Age Child Care and create a new contract.

How am I billed for PACC?

Your PACC contract will be billed bi-weekly on Mondays for the previous two weeks of scheduled care. Payment is due upon receipt. Families choosing auto pay will receive 10% discount on all scheduled care. The auto pay discount is not available to families receiving assistance or additional discounts. You will receive a separate invoice for your RPS Preschool tuition.

Do children receive breakfast or snack at PACC?

Morning and after school snacks will be provided. Morning students should eat breakfast before arriving at PACC.

Is lunch available during mid-day care?

Yes, hot lunch is available at Hoover Early Learning School. Families will set up a lunch account through PayPams. Students may also bring their own lunch from home.

How does my child get to their preschool class or go from preschool to PACC at the end of the day?

Students will be escorted to or from their classrooms by PACC or RPS Preschool staff members.

What is the ratio of child to adult?

1 to 10

Is financial aid available?

PACC accepts most assistance programs. The program qualifies for childcare assistance through Olmsted County Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). For qualifications requirements please contact Olmsted County at 507-328-6500.

Is transportation available to/from the PACC program?

No.

Is drop in care available?

Yes, for an added fee.

Is care available for non-school days, during breaks or holidays or when school has been closed for inclement weather?

No.

Can I sign up for PACC at any time?

Yes, if space at your site is available, you may register at any time. Contracts take one week to process.

Program Standards and Staffing

Standards

Program standards for the Preschool Age Child Care (PACC) Program are adapted from guidelines developed by the Minnesota Department of Education and have been reviewed and approved by the School Board of the Rochester Public School District.

Staff Responsibilities

The PACC Program is staffed with caring people who have experience in various fields. Background checks, first aid, CPR training, and continued staff development through workshops and trainings are required of all staff.

Each PACC site is staffed with at least one Program Lead who is responsible for overseeing the operation of the program. Program Assistants are trained to assume Program Lead responsibilities in their absence, and otherwise assume numerous responsibilities toward the operation of the site. Program Aides may also be included as part of the site team. They have a very important role of spending most of their time directly with children. Special Needs Assistants will be assigned to sites as needed. Team Leader Inclusion Specialists will be available to assist with children and staffing needs. Each site is overseen by a Team Leader who directs and guides the staff in general site operation, including communication, challenging behavior, teamwork, scheduling, program planning, etc.
